output-styles

Drop markdown files with frontmatter into ~/.pi/agent/output-styles/ (global) or .pi/output-styles/ (project) to define how the agent communicates. Select with /output-style or /output-style <name>.

Styles can be appended or prepended to the system prompt. Optional reminders re-inject the style every N turns to prevent drift in long conversations.

Why it matters: Different contexts need different communication styles. Reviewing code with a team needs formal, structured output. Quick solo hacking needs terse, no-explanation responses. Output styles let you switch without editing system prompts or restarting.
